Although a destination wedding is all excitement and fun for the happy couple, the guests often have to travel far, use vacation days and spend quite a bit of money to attend. If you're having a destination wedding, your wedding favors should sincerely express your gratitude for the guests' attendance and provide a thoughtful, attractive keepsake from the experience. Don't skimp on the favors -- your guests need to know they are appreciated.

Edible Favors

Fill a small tote bag with locally sourced coffee and chocolate. Have a bottle of locally produced wine etched with the location, date and occasion for each guest. You can also give a box of chocolate cigars or a bottle of locally brewed rum. Give each guest a pretty decorative tin filled with starfish- and seashell-shaped cookies for a beach wedding. You can also give a jar of candy that can be personalized, such as M&Ms;, with a wedding-related message, in the colors of your destination country's flag.

Decorative Favors

Buy small picture frames at your destination and fill them with a picture of you and your new spouse posing in front of a famous area landmark. Give each guest a miniature replica of a famous location; for example, if your wedding is in Paris, tiny Eiffel Tower paperweights can be your favors. Or, give guests a small photo album made from the seagrass on the beach where you were married.

Personal Care Favors

Travel can make your guests tired, so pamper them with exotic personal care products. For a wedding in a sunny location, make small gift baskets with sunscreen, moisturizing face cream, body lotion and flavored lip balm. You can also give hand sanitizer (personalize the label with your wedding date and location), a tiny suitcase-shaped tin full of personalized mints or a basket full of luxury bath items from the hotel at which you are lodging your guests.

Other Favors

Give each guest a paper parasol or a beach towel embroidered with your and your new spouse's names and wedding location. If your wedding is at a vineyard, give each guest a set of wine glasses, charms and bottle stoppers. You can also give personalized luggage tags, a set of miniature travel candles or a set of ceramic coasters with the name of your wedding's location. If your wedding is in a hot location, provide guests with personalized silk hand fans.
