As you drive into Denver, Colorado, you might notice the outline of the Rocky Mountains becoming bigger, and some hotels in "Mile-High City" provide day trips into Rocky Mountain National Park. If you aren't interested in a mountain adventure, you might see a professional sports competition or stroll through the upscale stores at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.

The Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel is situated by the pedestrian mall, with its restaurants and boutique shopping. The 1,231 tan-colored rooms provide oversize windows, robes, Internet access and separate living areas. The hotel's outdoor swimming pool is open year-round and offers private cabanas and loungers under umbrellas. Hotel features include a fitness facility, valet parking for an additional fee and a gift shop. A one-minute walk from the 16th Street Mall, the smoke-free Comfort Inn Downtown is within walking distance of the capitol and the Denver Art Museum. The 231 guest rooms welcome pets 75 lbs. or less for a nightly fee. The eggplant and cream-colored rooms offer Internet access, satellite TV and either queen or king beds. A fitness center, complimentary breakfast and a business center add to the services.

The 11-story JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek consists of 191 guest rooms providing robes, sitting areas with oversize furniture, kitchenettes and free Internet access. The smoke-free rooms give off a comfortable feel with green, orange and red hues, natural wood furnishings and views of the Rocky Mountains. The Spa at Cherry Creek provides facial treatments, massages and therapy baths. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the casual Second Home Kitchen prepares American-style dishes in its dark-hued restaurant with exposed brick walls. The rooms at the Inn at Cherry Creek include fireplaces, private terraces, free Internet access and robes. The hotel provides three separate meeting facilities that can accommodate up to 150 guests. The bistro-style restaurant, Weber's, offers a seasonal menu prepared by Chef Christopher Johnson. The hotel is an eight-minute-walk from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and a 10-minute-drive from downtown Denver. (See Reference #4)
