Dallas is considered one of the nation’s hubs for business -- home to 24 Fortune 500 companies in 2010, including Exxon Mobil and Texas Instruments. The DFW International airport operates 1,750 daily flights bringing many travelers who flock to the area for its superior convention hotels and variety of choices for off-hours leisure and entertainment.

Fairmont Dallas

The Fairmont Dallas in Uptown has space for conventions with as many as 1,200 attendees. The hotel has an online portal that allows a company representative to plan all aspects of his corporate function. Guests who require overnight accommodations can stay in one of the 545 recently renovated guest rooms, decorated in hues of gold and red, and enjoy a fully-equipped 24-hour fitness center. The hotel’s AAA Four Diamond-winning Pyramid Restaurant and Bar serves cocktails at night and breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. There is an on-site Starbucks.

Hyatt Regency Dallas

The Hyatt Regency Dallas has more than 160,000 square feet of meeting space for conventions. The 60 meeting rooms can accommodate groups from 20 to 2,280 attendees. The hotel has 1,120 guest rooms furnished with the Hyatt Grand bed and decorated in a calming color palette of white, taupe and sea-foam green. Attendees can enjoy panoramic downtown views from the 24-hour gym and rooftop swimming pool. Among the hotel’s five restaurants and lounges is the Wolfgang Puck fine dining eatery Five Sixty at the top of Reunion Tower. The hotel is conveniently located near public transportation that connects guests to all the area’s entertainment districts.

Rosewood Crescent Hotel

The facilities at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel in Uptown Dallas can accommodate all aspects of a company’s convention from 40 to 500 attendees. The hotel has reception halls, meeting and conference rooms for board meeting, classroom instruction, small dinner parties and grand receptions. An event coordinator can help plan everything from refreshments and catering to handout copies and A/V equipment. Elegant, modern décor and sleek flat-panel TVs are examples of some of the new improvements from the recent renovations. The hotel has 191 guest rooms with living areas, work desks and a down-feather filled love seat. The 29 suites range from one to two stories up to 3,035 square feet. Amenities include an outdoor rooftop pool, fitness center and business center. There are six restaurants and lounges as well as a Starbucks on site.

Sheraton Dallas Hotel

The 230,000-square-foot conference space at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel downtown includes entertainment suites, ballrooms and boardrooms. The smallest of the meeting rooms can accommodate 28 people, and the largest has seating for 5,000. In 2009, the hotel underwent a $90 million renovation to the meeting space and 1,840 guest rooms, which range from 316 to 2,180 square feet. The hotel has Microsoft-equipped workstations and complimentary Wi-Fi access in-room. There are four restaurants on the property offering casual and fine dining choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Amenities include a spacious, full-service fitness center and rooftop outdoor pool. The hotel is located in walking distance from the DART light rail station.
