How to Create a Music Montage in iTunes

by Christi Aldridge

A music montage, or mix of music, is a great way to listen to a lot of your favorite songs without having to click on each song individually. Putting the songs together on a playlist will enable you to listen to your music easily. A music montage is also useful background music for a photo slideshow you can make on your computer and burn to a DVD. A music montage can have a theme, such as motherhood, a birthday or romance.

Step 1

In iTunes, click "File" and then "New Playlist." This will create a highlighted cursor along the side of your iTunes box, and you can fill in the cursor with the name of your playlist, such as "Summer Hits."

Step 2

Scroll up to the top of the screen and click "Music" underneath the Library heading. This will bring up all of the songs you currently have on your iTunes program.

Step 3

Drag the songs you want on your montage to the playlist and drop them in. Once you have added all the songs you'd like on your list, select the playlist to bring up the songs you've added.

Step 4

Click "File" once more and select "Burn Playlist to Disc" to put your playlist on a CD you can play anywhere, or you can plug your iPod in and drag the playlist containing your music montage to your iPod or MP3 player.
