St. Michael, Minnesota, is 30 miles north of Minneapolis-St. Paul in southeast Minnesota. There are many craft shows, festivals and fairs in the St. Michael area. These craft shows feature local and national artists and crafters. Shows range from small shows with proceeds going to charity to large shows with prizes and awards for participating artists.
St. Michael-Albertville Women of Today
The St. Michael-Albertville Women of Today Craft Show (stmawt.org) is held in early November at the West Middle School in Albertville, Minnesota. The price for a booth is $75 plus $5 for electrical outlets. Booths are available in the gym, cafeteria and hallway. There is a two-space limit for crafters. The St. Michael-Albertville Women of Today is a non-profit community service organization that raises money for charities through their craft show and other events during the year.
Arts in Harmony
The Alliance Arts in Harmony Art Show (elkriverart.org) takes place in Elk River, just 15 minutes north of St. Michael. This is a juried art show and is held annually in February and March. This show is open to all living artists and all entries are judged through slides, photographs or digital images of the artwork. All work selected by the jury is displayed at the show. Each entry must be an original work and not a previous participant in the Arts in Harmony Show. Up to $10,000 in prizes is awarded in this show.
Crafts at the Creek
Crafts at the Creek is the annual craft show sponsored by the Coon Rapids North Start Lions. This craft show is a part of the Coon Rapids Fourth of July Celebration and runs for two days, July 2 and 3, each year. The celebration features entertainment, a karaoke contest, food and fireworks on the Fourth of July. Craft booth spaces range in price from $25 for a 10-by-10-foot space to $100 for a 10-by-40-foot space. The application deadline is June 17 and crafters must certify that they will use their booths for handcrafted items.
Carousel Craft Shows
Carousel Craft shows take place throughout the State of Minnesota at various times and locations during the year. One of these is the Blaine Craft Show (ccshows.com), just 30 minutes southeast of St. Michael. The Blaine Craft fair takes place in both March and October each year at the Blaine National Sports Center. This show averages 5,000 to 8,000 in attendance and hosts both amateur crafters and professional vendors. This popular show fills up quickly, so it's important to register early. Both mail-in and online registration is available.
