Cleveland Area Hotels by Progressive Field

Progressive Field, the home of the Cleveland Indians major league baseball team, is located on the south side of downtown Cleveland. The 45,199-seat ballpark, which opened in 1994, is surrounded by hotels in all price categories. While in downtown Cleveland, baseball fans can also visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; the USS Cod, an authentic World War II submarine; and Voinovich Park, a peaceful and secluded green space at the edge of Lake Erie.

Closest Hotel to Progressive Field

The closest hotel to Progressive Field is the Hilton Garden Inn, located directly across the street from the ballpark. All guest rooms at this property feature complimentary Internet access as well as flat-screen television sets, microwave ovens and mini-refrigerators. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, 24-hour business center, coin-operated guest laundry and a fitness room. Breakfast and dinner are served in the casual Great American Grill. For baseball fans looking for more deluxe accommodations, the Ritz Carlton Cleveland is located just two blocks away from Progressive Field and connected via indoor walkways to the park. The 205-room hotel is the only AAA four-star hotel in downtown Cleveland and offers sweeping views of the Cuyahoga River and downtown skyline from the majority of its guest rooms. Guests can also enjoy the 24-hour business center, indoor swimming pool and 24-hour fitness room at the Ritz. For meals, the hotel has the casually elegant Muse, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Ritz is also connected to the Tower City shopping and dining complex, which boasts eateries that range from a food court to the upscale Hyde Park Grille.

Historic Hotels Near Progressive Fields

Visitors looking to combine a little history with an evening at the ballpark will find several options in downtown Cleveland. The Hyatt Regency Cleveland is housed in the Old Arcade, one of America's first shopping centers. The brick building with its five-story, glass-roof atrium was built in 1890 and features brass-railed balconies and a variety of restaurants and shops in addition to the hotel. Just four blocks away from Progressive Field, the 293-room Hyatt offers complimentary Internet access, a 24-hour business center and an on-site fitness room. Also within walking distance of the ballpark is the Cleveland Renaissance Hotel, located right in the center of downtown, at Public Square. This 491-room hotel, built in 1918, combines old and new with features like crown moldings, an elegant lobby and complimentary wireless Internet access throughout.

Budget Hotels Near Progressive Field

Staying near Progressive Field doesn't have to be expensive. Several more affordable properties are located within walking distance of the ballpark. One of these, the Hampton Inn Cleveland, is located about six blocks away and offers 193 guest rooms, all with free Internet access and a complimentary breakfast each morning. Room rates here start at around $100 per night, less than half of what the Ritz Carlton charges per night.
