In addition to helping athletes improve their volleyball skills and knowledge of the game, Christian volleyball camps promote the Christian faith and good sportsmanship. Camps are available for elementary, junior high and high school players of all skill levels; both universities and churches offer volleyball camps during the summer to prepare athletes for competition in the fall.

Geist Christian Church

Geist Christian Church ( is located in Fishers and offers a summer volleyball camp in June for both boys and girls entering fifth through eighth grade. As of 2011, the cost of the camp was $65. Campers learn basic and fundamental volleyball skills. The four-day camp is hosted by the Moto Vollyball Club and lasts from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The camper-to-coach ratio is 1-to-10. The camp is located at 126th and Promise Road in Fishers, and the phone number is 317-842-3594.

Taylor University

According to its website, Taylor University ( is a Christian school that focuses on spiritual and intellectual discovery. The university is located in Upland and offers two three-day volleyball camps each year through its athletic department. The first camp is the Trojan Select Volleyball Camp, which takes place in late July. This is an invitation-only camp for the top players across the country. The second camp is for any volleyball players entering seventh through 12th grades and begins in early August. The camps provide female athletes with an opportunity to work with the volleyball staff at the university. Commuters must pay $260 for the camp, while the cost for those who stay on campus is $285, as of 2011. Six courts are located in the Kesler Student Activities Center and Odle Arena. Tuition for the camp includes housing and meals. On the Sunday morning of the camp, all the girls have an opportunity to worship on campus. The location of the camp is 236 W. Community Baptist Church

Community Baptist Church ( in South Bend offers volleyball camps each summer for girls entering fifth through 12th grade. The camp for fifth-graders through eighth-graders takes place over a period of four days, lasting from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The camp for grades nine through 12 is three days and begins at 3 p.m. the first day, 8:30 a.m. on the second and 2:30 p.m. on the final day. According to the church's website, athletes must learn to become team players, play under control and be enthusiastic about the game. The camp takes place at 5715 Miami St. in South Bend, and the phone number is 574-291-1884.

Indiana Christian Academy

Indiana Christian Academy ( is located in Anderson and has been providing students with a Christian education for more than 35 years, as of 2011. The academy offers the Whirlwind Girls' Summer Volleyball Camp, which is designed to help girls mature as players through intense off-season training. Campers have an opportunity to participate in conditioning, agility and skill-specific drills. As of 2011, the cost of the five-day camp was $40, and it included a T-shirt. Girls entering the fourth through sixth grade attend in the morning from 9 to 11:30, and campers entering seventh through 12th grade go from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. One-on-one instruction is also provided to campers. The camp is located at 432 W 300 N, and the phone number is 765-643-7884.
