Chicago's Clark Street, a main city thoroughfare, runs from the northernmost border of the city into downtown. Clark Street is mostly inhabited by shops and restaurants and is serviced by a 24-hour bus line. Hotels can be found nearby, however.

City Suites Hotel

City Suites Hotel is a few blocks from Clark Street, close to the Belmont Red and Brown El stops. This Boystown historical hotel features art deco design and amenities including a bathrobe, free Internet and complimentary continental breakfast. For those who need more room and ability to cook, the hotel also offers executive suites that include a microwave. A small place like the City Suites doesn't have its own gym, but guests are free to use the nearby Bally Total Fitness during their stay. This hotel is a suitable choice for those who want proximity to downtown without the high price.

Days Inn Chicago

This national chain hotel occupies a 1920s-era building in the Lincoln Park/Lake View neighborhood of Chicago, a trendy section of the city known for its young residents. Amenities include free Internet, triple-sheeted bedding and complimentary continental breakfast. The hotel's location, at the corner of Clark and Diversey Parkway, is near two major El lines, the Brown and the Red. It is within walking distance of the Lincoln Park Zoo, Wrigley Field, Lake Michigan and other attractions and is surrounded by shops and restaurants.

Heart O' Chicago Motel

Heart O' Chicago Motel is a budget hotel in the northern section of Andersonville. Near Lake Michigan and the Chicago Cubs home field, the motel lies only a block or two from Clark Street. It's a small place with only 45 rooms and two floors and doesn't boast many amenities. It does offer free continental breakfast and wireless Internet service. All rooms have a private bath, and you can book one or two full or queen beds, or a single king bed.

Inn at Lincoln Park

This Lincoln Park boutique hotel has 71 rooms and three suites. The decor leans toward antiques and Victorian-inspired designs, with brass lighting fixtures and a mix of furniture styles in the rooms. The Inn is in a prime place for tourists, in an area full of interesting shopping and close to both the Brown and Red El lines. Amenities include free continental breakfast, cable television, toiletries and Internet access.
