Sometimes slideshows display pictures too fast or too slow. A slideshow is designed to display a series of pictures on a timeline. If you created a slideshow to show to other people, it should display long enough for others to view your photos but not long enough to bore them. Using Windows Movie Maker, you can indicate how long each picture should be displayed and how long it should take to transition to the new photo.
Launch Windows Movie Maker. Click "File" and "Open" to browse to and open your slide show. To create a slide show, click "Pictures" and select the photos that you want to add in the browser window. Then click "Import." The pictures are copied into the contents pane; drag the pictures into the timeline.
Click the "Tools" menu, and click "Options."
Click the "Advanced" tab in the "Options" window.
Enter a value in the "Picture Duration" field. For instance, if you want the picture to display for five seconds, enter "5." Then enter a value for the "Transition Duration," or how long it takes the slideshow to transition from the current picture to the next picture.
Click "Apply" and "OK."
