Car Shows in Cookeville, Tennessee

    There are many opportunities for car enthusiasts to get their fix in the Cookeville, Tennessee, area. The Granville Heritage Day Antique Car show brings in hundreds of the best cars in the area, as does the Sparta Liberty Square Celebration Car and Truck Show. There are also numerous local car clubs in the area, many of which hold regular "cruise-ins" and all of which are within a half-hour's drive of Cookeville.

    Granville Heritage Day Antique Car Show

    The Granville Heritage Day Antique Car Show has been an event that area car enthusiasts and motorheads have looked forward to since 1998. As part of the Granville Heritage Days, it overlooks the scenic Cordell Hull Lake. The first 250 cars are generally given a dash plaque to mark their participation in the event. There are also trophies awarded for the top three places of each class, as well as Best of Show Production, Modified and Granville Choice designations.

    Sparta Liberty Square Celebration Car and Truck Show

    The Sparta Liberty Square Celebration includes a show for resident and visiting car lovers. Area businesses and the City of Sparta sponsor Top 60 awards and many other specialty awards. The event is held in conjunction with the Lester Flatt Memorial Bluegrass Day, adding to the excitement with food vendors, games and rides. The event takes place in Sparta on a Saturday toward the end of September.

    Standing Stone Cruisers Car Club Cruise-in

    The Standing Stone Cruisers Car Club Cruise-ins started in 2002 and have enjoyed wide participation since, generally as much as 200 cars taking part on a given night. The cruise-ins are held at the square in Livingston on the second Saturday evening of every month, starting in April and finishing in October. All show cars are welcome and there are no entry fees. Spectators and participants can come and go as they please.

    Other Local Cruise-Ins

    There are numerous local car clubs in the Cookeville area, many of which hold their own cruise-ins. The Sparta "Good Time" Cruisers hold an event every third Saturday on the month from April to October. The Monterey Commerce Association sponsors a downtown cruise-in on every third Saturday of each month as well in Monterey. The Overton County Cruise-In and Swap Meet is held in Livingston every second Saturday of the month from April to October.
