Piketon is a town located along the Scioto River in south-central Ohio. For new residents to the town in search of high-speed Internet service or for current residents planning to switch their provider, the Comcast Corporation provides high-speed Internet service with a wide array of complimentary features such as do-it-yourself installation and comprehensive security software.

Comcast offers two installation options for its high-speed Internet subscribers -- professional installation by a Comcast professional (for an additional fee) or the do-it-yourself option, which is free for existing digital television customers. The do-it-yourself installation kit includes a software program that supports both Windows and Machintosh platforms, a cable splitter, coaxial cables and clips to secure the cables neatly to the walls. For those without a cable modem, a leased modem kit is also available that includes a cable modem and a USB cable.

All Comcast high-speed Internet subscribers receive the PowerBoost feature that provides download speeds of up to 15 megabits-per-second, which is four to eight times faster than 1.5 Mbps DSL and 100 times faster than dial-up Internet service. For those downloading large files such as songs and video clips, the PowerBoost program can download a 20 MB file in approximately 20 seconds, compared to the three-and-a-half minutes it takes on a DSL connection.

All subscribers to Comcast's high-speed Internet service receive the complimentary Comprehensive Security Suite. This top-rated security software protects the computer from the latest viruses and worms as well as attacks from hackers. With the built-in toolbar, the program provides the latest security downloads and updates with full control over additional features such as pop-up blocking and protection against invasive spyware and phishing programs.

The Comcast XF Triple Play option offers three services -- high-speed Internet, digital cable and phone service -- for one set price for extra savings and overall convenience. In addition to all of the high-speed Internet features, the digital cable service includes up to 270 digital channels and 100 high-definition channels as well as On Demand, which provides access to thousands of movies and television shows with on-screen programming, parental controls and more than 40 music channels. The digital phone service includes unlimited nationwide calling with additional features such as voice mail, caller ID, call waiting and three-way calling.
