How to Camp in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Charlottetown is the capital city of Prince Edward Island, Canada. There are many campgrounds around the city that are ideal for camping, and are used by people who are traveling within Canada and from outside the country to get a great camping experience. There are several different parks that you can choose from that each offer a unique camping experience for you and your family or friends to enjoy. Keep in mind that you will need to pay a fee to camp in one of these parks.

Contact Parks Canada at 1-877-737-3783.

Step 2

Research the different camp park options in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. There are several parks to choose from, each with their own features and fees.

Step 3

Find out when each of the campground parks are open. They are not open year round. For example, New Haven Campground is open from May to October while Strethgartney Provincial Park is open from June to September.

Step 4

Choose between the capability to park an RV, or access to pitch a tent. Some parks have motels as well. For example, Southport RV Park accommodates RVs and has a hotel, while the New Glasgow Highlands Campground has tent and RV accommodations.

Step 5

Look into additional activities that you can enjoy at the campground parks in Charlottetown. For example, New Glasgow Highlands Campground has a heated swimming pool and playground and Vacationland RV Park features Brackley Beach National Park.

Step 6

Pay the fees to the individual park that you have chosen to camp in. Each park has their own fees that can change over time. Parks Canada can provide you with up-to-date contact information for the park you choose. Some parks have flat fees for a set period of time, while others have daily camping fees that you must pre-pay.
