Boca Raton Resort Hotels

by Mary Freeman

The city of Boca Raton on the eastern coast of southern Florida extends over only 29 square miles of land, encompassing beaches, parks and resort hotels. The city is located nearby many Florida destinations, including Miami, and the closer Deerfield Beach, which is less than five miles away. The city exudes an exclusive, tropical ambiance, and many of the accommodations reflect this quality.

Sundy House

Just outside of Boca Raton in Delray Beach, the Sundy House is a 20-minute drive from Palm Beach International Airport and an hour north of Miami. The historic hotel is on the Register of Historic Places. While the inn is far too small to be considered a resort, it is one of the few regional lodging options that share many of the qualities of a traditional resort property. Guests swim in the hotel's natural swimming pond or at the beach, which is only a mile away. The Sundy House lies amidst an acre of tropical gardens, which guests tour by reservation. Each of the inn's 11 rooms has its own theme, design and décor. Three nearby golf courses and a tennis court await guests.

Boca Raton Resort

Part of the Waldorf Astoria Collection, Boca Raton Resort is a truly luxurious property. The hotel has five different settings for guests to choose from, spread out across 365 acres. The resort has 10 different dining options, including burgers and fries, upscale fine dining and modern fare. The resort's two championship golf courses and 30 clay tennis courts -- "Tennis Magazine" named the resort No. 5 on its list of The 50 Greatest Tennis Resorts in the U.S. -- offer lessons for the whole family. Sailboat and jet-ski rentals as well as cruise charters are available at the resort's exclusive 32-slip marina. A resort spa, Cenegenic Medical Institute of Boca Raton, specializes in age management and prevention.

Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort

Three different types of palm trees, golden dewdrops and dwarf pomegranate trees grow on the grounds of the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort, which is 33 steps from Deerfield Beach. A smaller resort, Wyndham has 172 rooms and three resorts, which have balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the nearby shore. For dining and nightlife, the resort has two restaurants and three bars. The resort also has an on-site market, gym and 24-hour business center. The private pool area has a patio bar and nightly live entertainment.

3 Crowns Resort

The 3 Crowns Resort offers deluxe one bedrooms and furnished studio apartments; each apartment comes with a full kitchen. The resort has a pool area, sun deck, shuffleboard court and barbecue. House-cleaning service is only available between Monday and Friday; laundry facilities are also on site. This budget resort has both daily and weekly rates, which change seasonally. Children are not allowed to stay during the high season.
