Birthday Party Ideas in Lincolnshire, Illinois

by Jaime Swanson

Lincolnshire, Illinois, is about 34 miles northwest downtown Chicago, making it a prime location for those who want access to big-city life while maintaining a suburban home. Set in a landscape of mature trees and parks with shopping and dining areas galore, Lincolnshire has plenty to offer its residents who are looking to celebrate their birthdays close to home.

Dinner and a Movie

Chicagoland is known for its severe weather, especially during the winters. Lincolnshire is in Lake County, where the weather can be even more brutal, making it harder to celebrate a birthday with a huge party that requires a lot of outdoor time. However, taking in a dinner and a movie for a winter birthday in Lincolnshire would be a warm way to celebrate. Gather a group to go to CityPark, where you can visit one of its many restaurants, and stay in the area to go to the movies afterward.

A Night at the Theater

Lincolnshire, while home to only about 7,000 people, has plenty to offer its residents and visitors. The Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire offers a handful of shows each year, such as "White Christmas," "Seussical" and "Shout!" which are perfect for an intimate birthday party of two or a large group party of children and parents.

Breakfast Party

Is your favorite meal of the day breakfast? Then head on over to the Village Green in Lincolnshire. With restaurants and coffee shops such as Egg Harbor and Einstein Bros., you'll have your pick of breakfast fare. Ask the servers to put a candle in your bagel or cinnamon roll, and get a celebratory pot of coffee to share with your friends and family.

Village Events

Use Lincolnshire's many village events to your advantage. If you're not interested in planning a huge party, consider inviting your friends and family to join you at the community party. Lincolnshire holds a party each year around the Fourth of July to celebrate the nation's birthday, and a few days later, it hosts the Taste of Lincolnshire. Later in the summer, you can take your friends to the Lincolnshire Art Festival. Each festival offers entertainment, games and food, making it easy for you, as you'll be able to leave the cleanup to the village.
