Wolfeboro, New Hampshire bills itself as "America's Oldest Summer Resort." In this quaint Granite State town, old is by no means synonymous with stuffy. There are a host of activities available here to give a bachelorette an ideal send-off into married life. Whatever the season, whatever the style, Wolfeboro will give the bride-to-be a day she will never forget.

Fun at the Beach

Wolfeboro has several beaches, and Albee Beach is a fabulous setting for an afternoon bachelorette party. The beach is open from sunrise to sunset, and closes after the first snow. Swimming in Lake Wentworth is an option, though no lifeguards are present. Kick back on the sandy beach with a cocktail and play card games or open gifts. Albee Beach has two charcoal grills. These are first-come first-serve, so ensure someone from the party can arrive early enough in the morning to hold a grill for any tasty burgers the party might want to grill up. There is no fee to visit the beach, making Albee Beach an affordable option for a bachelorette party.

Out on the Water

One of the many perks of Wolfeboro is its prominent access to water. Help the bride-to-be relieve any pre-wedding stress with an action-packed day on the water. Wolfeboro Bay Water Sports (wbwatersports.com) offers waterskiing and wakeboarding lessons, as well as an afternoon of tubing on Lake Winnipesaukee. Whether the group chooses to waterski, wakeboard or tube, rental for instruction, equipment, the boat and gas is $125 per hour, as of June 2011. Zipping around the lake on a hot summer day is a perfect way for the bachelorette to cut loose.

Wolfeboro Bar Crawl

Although Wolfeboro is a small town, it is not without a nightlife scene. After a day in the sun or during the winter months, a bar crawl down Wolfeboro's main streets is a fun way to send the bachelorette off to married life. Party hosts should consider spots including the Bayside Grill and Tavern (baysidegrillandtavern.com), which has live music on Friday and Saturday nights, and Wolfe's Tavern (wolfeboroinn.com/dining/), with a wide variety of beers on tap and four fireplaces ideal for the chilly winter months.

Wolfeboro Girls' Day

With all the time involved in planning the wedding, it's unlikely the bride has had time for a girls' day. Take the bride to the Bay Street Discount Shopping Center and the Wolfeboro Shopping Center for a little retail therapy. Consider a short drive to Weirs Beach Drive-In movie (weirsbeach.net) to catch the latest ROM-com, or take the party to Tangles Salon (tangleswolfeboro.com) where you all can get your hair done and relax in a tanning booth.
