Bachelor Party Ideas in North Florida

by Jo Jackson, Demand Media

The traditional image of a bachelor party is a night of wild drinking, perhaps with a stripper and embarrassing memories the day after. There are plenty of other different and fun ways to have a stag night, and North Florida has some great party destinations and ideas. Whatever you choose, make sure you plan ahead and have the bachelor party a couple of nights before the wedding so the groom does not have a hangover while walking down the aisle.

    Action Party

Paintball, go-karting or ATV driving are all great ideas for an action-filled party and will be enjoyed by the teetotalers in the group. Paintball Adventures (paintballadventures.com) at Jacksonville can cater for up to 400 players and has downloadable event invitations to make it easy for you to organize a party there. Adventure Landing (adventurelanding.com) has adventure speedway go-karts at three North Florida locations. Fully automatic single or double rider ATVs can be hired by riders over 18 years old at several locations and you can take an ATV guided tour in Ocala National Forest (floridaparks.com).

    Private Party

North Florida has plenty of great party locations you can find listed at Eventective (eventective.com). Many of these will require booking well in advance. Most venues will also help with booking entertainment. A private beach rental for a weekend is another option for a private party. A party does not need to be at a fixed location and can be held on a party bus or one of the cruise boats that operate on the St. Johns River.

    Casino Cruises

A bachelor party at a casino usually gives at least one person bragging rights on a big win. Florida gaming laws only allow gambling on casino boats, at Indian casinos and on slot machines at pari-mutuels. There are casino cruises that depart from historic Mayport, Jacksonville. Slot machines, roulette, blackjack, craps, video poker and a sports book are available. Photo ID is required before you can get on a casino boat.

    Bars and Nightclubs

A traditional bachelor party involves a night out at bars, nightclubs and even clubs with exotic dancers. North Florida has hundreds of bars and clubs including Emperor's Gentlemans Club (emperorsjacksonville.com), Club TSI (clubtsi.com) and O'Brothers Irish Pub (obrotherspub.com). Pick a place that meets your budgets and tastes. Make sure none of your party will be driving if they are going to be drinking, and arrange transport options in advance.
