Livermore, California, was founded in 1869. The city of Livermore is situated to the east side of San Francisco Bay, approximately 40 miles east of downtown San Francisco. It boasts a population of over 81,000 across approximately 26.44 square miles of land.

Club Moto

Club Moto ( is a motocross track that holds several motorcycle racing events each week. At the time of publication, Terry Bostard teaches beginner-level riding classes at Club Moto on the first Saturday of each month. These classes are designed for experienced bikers who have never ridden on a motocross track. The terrain of Club Moto's tracks is groomed and maintained on a daily basis and the layout is changed frequently to keep things new. Membership passes are required to enter Club Moto; day and yearly passes are available.

Del Valle Regional Park

Del Valle Regional Park ( offers two swimming beaches, a 150-site campground, lake tours and boat rental. The park encompasses around 5,000 acres of land and features a lake that is five miles long. Visitors also have access to hiking and horseback riding trails, and the park offers a gateway to the 28-mile Ohlone Wilderness Trail. Fishing is allowed at Del Valle Regional Park; catfish, panfish, smallmouth bass and trout all inhabit Lake Del Valle. The Rocky Range Visitor Center can provide history and information on the park.


Las Positas Golf Course (, Poppy Ridge Golf Course ( and Springtown Golf Course ( are all located in Livermore, California. Las Positas Golf Course was designed in 1967 by Robert Muire Graves. It offers a 6,800-yard, 18-hole course as well as a nine-hole executive course. Poppy Ridge Golf Course offers three nine-hole courses. These courses are named Chardonnay, Merlot and Zinfandel and were designed by Rees Jones. At Springtown Golf Course (, visitors can play on a public, nine-hole golf course that covers 2,750 yards.


There are many wineries throughout Livermore. Bent Creek Winery ( offers several wine varieties such as chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon. BoaVentura Vineyard and Winery ( rests on five acres of land. The vineyard features three microclimates, which allows for the production of grapes with complex character and richness. Bodegas Aguirre Winery ( specializes in estate-grown red wines.
