by Joe Fletcher

Billed as the "world's largest aquarium," the Georgia Aquarium opened in late-2005. If the aquarium is No. 1 on your list of sights to see in Atlanta, stay at one of the city's properties that offer nearby lodging and/or aquarium packages. As a bonus, you'll also be near many of the city's other big attractions.

The Georgia Aquarium is conveniently located in the Luckie Marietta district of downtown Atlanta, a pedestrian-friendly area that combines a variety of entertainment, attractions, shops and restaurants. By staying near the aquarium, you'll also be near many of the other things the city offers. Some of the district's other attractions include Centennial Olympic Park, a 21-acre park designed for the1996 Olympics, World of Coca-Cola Museum, Imagine It!, the Children's Museum and the Georgia World Congress Center/Georgia Dome.
